Wish List for the Rift Valley Children’s Village

Most of our children are from the ages of 2 years to 15 years old. We now have 41 children living with us. Thank you for your generosity!

ESL Teacher Needed
Wanted for Gyetighi Primary School: A certified ESL teacher for the school year of 2008 (January thru November including one month vacation in June). Roundtrip Airfare, health insurance, room and board and a small stipend provided by TCF 

Clothing
Rain jackets and sturdy ponchos—Children’s small, medium and large
Fleece jackets-Children’s small, medium and large
Warm pajamas-Children’s small, medium and large
Clothing –(gently used clothing is fine)
boys 2T & 3T clothes
boys ages 5-12 (sizes 5-10), especially pants and shorts
girls ages 6 to 13 years old, dresses
Children’s underwear and boxers--print or colored—(age 5-10)
Shoes: sneakers or Teva-type sandals
--Children’s sizes 8-13 and adult sizes 1-6
Crocs
Socks: dark, colored or patterned
Please note that due to health reasons, we keep all of our children’s heads shaved and therefore cannot use children’s hair accessories.

Books
Children’s books especially need picture books, beginning readers and phonics books as well as grades 1-3 easy chapter books

Educational Activities
Children’s workbooks-- English, Math, Alphabet, Writing-Kindergarten through 6th grade
Children’s cardboard/wooden puzzles
Legos, Kinexs
Toddler toys

Recreation
Musical instruments (recorders, slide whistle, kazoo, etc)
Soccer balls, volley balls, voit balls, tennis balls, 4 square/playground balls, whiffle balls and bats
Sleeping bags (we want to take the kids camping one day!)

Homemade quilts (every child receives a quilt when they come to live with us)

Laptop PCs with Windows 98 or newer capability (We have started a computer class)
