Tanzanian Children's Fund

How you can help

Make a donation: We still need funding to finish the construction of the Children’s Village, to cover our ongoing operating costs and to continue to assist our local school.

Collect Items of Need from our Wish List: We always need clothing (new and used), art supplies and children’s medicines. Please consult our Wish List for items we need most urgently. Recently some students held “clothing drives” and collected rain jackets, fleeces, shoes and socks.

Sponsor a child: Building the Children’s Village is only our first step. Each child will need food, care, education and health care until he/she reaches adulthood. Through the yearly sponsorship of a child, you will provide much needed funding and develop a meaningful and lasting relationship with one of Tanzania’s greatest treasures – her children.

Host a gathering: Why not combine forces and resources and gather a group of friends to share our story and possibly raise a significant sum? We can provide you with materials and whenever possible, one of our directors or volunteers can speak at your event. Whether a dinner or reception, getting friends and family interested in our work can make a difference.

Make a quilt: Despite our proximity to the equator, Tanzania can be very cold. Our high elevation and the surrounding mountains create low evening temperatures for many months of the year. A group of inner city women in Syracuse, New York and a church quilting group from Florida, who wanted to help, came up with the brilliant idea of making quilts! These colorful quilts provide so much more than just warmth on a cold night. Many of our children have never owned anything, not even a pair of their own shoes, so these quilts have provided security and a sense of ownership. Such important steps towards a healthy self image!
