Gift & Fundraiser Ideas

The gifting opportunities below are excellent ways to give to the Tanzanian Children’s Fund. You can also gift them in honor of a friend or family member or to celebrate a special event – like a birthday, anniversary, or holiday.

Summit for Health:  Have you ever dreamed of climbing Africa’s tallest mountain? Are you interested in seeing Africa's most iconic animals in their native habitats? Do you believe that every child should have access to medical and dental care? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we invite you to participate in RVCV’s first ever "Summit for Health" fundraiser, which will help Rift Valley Children’s Village build a much needed health center. Not only will you have the opportunity to climb one of the world’s Seven Summits (at 19,340 ft), but you will also contribute to the building of a health center that will help provide important medical and dental services for the children and staff of Rift Valley Children’s Village. Buy a Desk:  We are renovating classrooms at our local primary school, Gyetighi Primary School. The current desks at Gyetighi are long benches that several students squeeze into. Because they sit so close together, students are easily distracted. By purchasing a desk, you are helping to provide our students in rural Tanzania with the learning environment they need in order to focus on their studies. To buy a desk for $50 for a classroom at Gyetighi Primary School, download our Desk Order Form. Complete the order form and mail with a check made out to "Tanzanian Children's Fund".

Buy a Uniform:  In Tanzania, children are not permitted to attend school unless they have a uniform. At $25 per uniform, this additional burden on families in rural Tanzania often prevents children from attending school. By purchasing a uniform for a child in our corner of Tanzania, you are helping to give a child the opportunity to learn and the chance to achieve his or her full potential. Give the Gift of Light:  The BoGo Solar Light Company designed an efficient solar powered flashlight, which is ideal for people in developing countries who do not have access to electricity. With each flashlight purchased in the developed world, a second identical light is donated to an organization from the list on BoGo Light's website. The Tanzanian Children's Fund is one of the fortunate groups that has been added to their list. So give the gift of light by going to http://www.bogolight.com/ and ordering a solar powered flashlight for yourself and then donating one to us at the Children's Village.
